From the Group Stage to the Knockout Rounds: A Look Back at the Competition's History

Olympiacos and Fiorentina will face off in the final of the inaugural UEFA Europa Conference League on May 29, 2024. The match, scheduled for 9:00 PM CET, will be the culmination of a season-long competition that has seen 140 matches played.

The Europa Conference League is the third tier of UEFA club competitions, below the Champions League and Europa League. It was created in 2021 to provide more opportunities for clubs to participate in European competition.

The competition began with a group stage, in which 32 teams were divided into eight groups of four. The top two teams from each group advanced to the knockout rounds, which consisted of two-legged ties.

Olympiacos has been one of the most impressive teams in the competition, winning all six of their group stage matches and both of their knockout round ties. Fiorentina, meanwhile, finished second in their group and has won three of their four knockout round ties.

The final will be a rematch of the 2021-22 Europa League final, which Fiorentina lost to Roma.
